Lakeview CLC School Community Coordinator, Gina Benne, requested funding through the Lincoln CLC Interlocal Funds to offer children in grades 3-5 the opportunity to be in a ukulele club. The CLC has partnered with the Lakeview music teacher to learn and experience an instrument they have not had the chance to play. Benne says, "the ability to perform enhances student development, allows self-expression, self-confidence, as well as develops motor skills."
The instruments are also used to meet the performance aspect of the elementary music curriculum. The club plans to have a concert at the end of the semester.
